So its half way through July already… golly!
Despite having written a murder mystery taking place on the grounds of a summer camp, I took on a job as a camp counselor last month! A day camp counselor, but I think that still counts. Its a blast to work with the kids, and I’m learning a lot that I can take with me into the school year! It has already been a whirlwind of a break. I use the word break lightly, because there is something about summer that just always feels like “go, go, go!” I am probably not nearly as busy as I believe I am, but I do know I have a list of To-Do’s staring me down on the daily. I hope you know a similar feeling.
The sequel for “It Had to Be You” has gotten running. I am hoping to have a large chunk done by the end of August. I plan on giving some sneak peeks on my socials, and actually have already shared a mood board on Tiktok and Instagram, a few pictures I collected on Pinterest that give off the vibe of my WIP. This is actually a method I have seen many authors use to help not just readers understand what they are imagining, but also themselves.
One little taste I will give you — since you are so kind to be subscribed to this blog — the sequel will have a flash forward in time! A slightly older version of Wylie and Gemma. Not much but just enough, since one piece of feedback I got from a reader was that the characters seemed young. I mean, I was okay with this, since it is a young adult novel, but continuing the coming of age story line I developed in the first book, it makes sense to see the characters in their college years.
Stick with me! Much more is to come 🙂
